Yes you have to get to use the competitor look up function . The code goes in there as the competitor . That’s it.

I Think the thinning is the root of your problem. Real CARC paint has a texture to it. It is not smooth. I have never thinned the paint and have had no issues. Also have never used Satin. Have heard it does not work as well. So I can say with flat not thinned I have had no issues...

I have never thinned. Use a harbor freight purple gun. Drill the hole out to 2mm. Works great. Paint is very durable. Won’t scratch.

In the last 2 weeks I was able to have Home Depot look up paint by the FS code in their new system . You only use the number portion for the color. In my case 16473 aircraft gray. BTW my Home Depot also still had the old system to look up paint codes

Little more work on the jet

I think I got it in Pennsylvania. I’m always looking for aircraft bits and this was one of the things I found. Have had it for years finally decided to work on it If your interested I would sell for $4500 dolly included.

Painted the jet today. Behr marquee. FS 16473. Aircraft gray. The Home Depot guy was able to look it up by the FS code in their new system

I don’t know about the scotch bright. It’s not something I would have done. I not a pro though. Just a guy with some army trucks and some harbor freight spray guns.

You can not lift the paint with your nail. It will have a dusty scratch that removes by brushing with your hand, the same as CARC. my hood was sandblasted to bare metal then shot with the rustoleum rusty metal primer. it was probably 2 months maybe before I sprayed the Behr over it. I used...

Can only speak from my experience . I have sprayed the behr over rustoleum primer and behr stuck like glue hard as a rock.

This is my Paint project. If I go with Fs 16473. I’ll try the Behr. If silver I’ll go with something else. Would love to polish it but I’m afraid thats way too much work

This will stay inside so that should help. The flat I have used is great. lays down nice and weathers well

I’ve had good luck with the exterior flat. Has anyone ever tried the gloss on anything. I have a mil project that requires a gloss finish or ar least satin.

It’s real tough and does not seem to fade very much
