ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Disappointed to hear about the PAC brake losing effectiveness. I kinda figured that the trans would need a re-tune after the ECO hubs were added too the equation. Going to have to see what people are doing with regards to this. But damn, the loose off the effective PAC brake may be a...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I'm not surprised in the least. My 2008 A1R with OEM rims and 2008 Goodyears is smooth as silk on the highway. No balancing of the tires or even the driveshaft. I don't think it has to do with the gearing or the hubs. The vibration issues from the tires would still present...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yeah, because potential order requests in his thread are easily lost in the various discussions there. He will get an email notification if you PM him. As popular as this thread is, he may not have all the spam notifications for each and every post. PMs are a good point of...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

His phone number is on the hub cover. @Xengineguy you might want to add that image to the OP

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Likely more productive if this were it's own discussion and not spamming up the ECO Hud thread again. But I'm out in any event.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I'll dig something up for ya on the fluid dynamic aspect. As far as the corrosive nature, that dates back to when I had a radiator shop. The supplier we used for cores (Modine) warned about running straight antifreeze (opposed to diluted). The literature provided at the time...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I'll try to better denote my sarcasm and exaggeration in the future. Now I'll go remove and weight the 10 lb steel CTIS covers <-----sarcasm and exaggeration ;p

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Not to offend those who do/did... Not in a MILLION years. As ballast for a farm tractor to help keep the vehicle from tipping over, sure. Beyond that, nope. My reasons are based on fluid dynamics. But if people "think" it helps, that's all that matters. :) *and if you do...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yeah, with 5 lbs of CTIS hoses and valves asymmetrically on one side , 10 lbs metal CTIS covers with non-symmetrical cuts......I'm realistically not expecting to ever have "balance"... That said, I have zero vibration on my A1R truck at 60mph. <knocks on wood> I don't plan on...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

The big draw of ECO hubs (at least for me) is that it's something that can be done in the driveway in about the same time it would take just to service the hubs. And it's just as easy to revert back to stock. Also factor in the price at around $2500 shipped Where 3:07's will...

(removed because not ECO Hub related) :)

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Awesome stuff, but time for it's own thread I think You might have surpassed the ECO Hubs topic here. Just sayin' :) And get one of these before you make a road trip. And a spare u-joint. Because...reasons. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0787C31T1 There's a couple...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

The C7 speedo gets it's signal from the ECM. So when they flash your ECM for the higher HP they can also do the speedo. All done via the CAT ET

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Some states have cracked down on people registering their "luxury" vehicles out of state to avoid paying property and luxury taxes in their resident state. So in that aspect, if you were paying a pile of taxes to your resident state, then register the vehicle in another state to...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I can attest that it is in fact a legal alternative. Basically, most states require that you register your motor vehicle in the state you reside (typically within 30 days of purchase or moving to a state). A "company car" can be registered in the state the "company" resides...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

You might also consider starting an LLC in a more "friendly" state. Company vehicle. Leased to yourself. Add the LLC as "also covered" on the insurance. /done Cheaper than a new home... :)

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yeah, we can get you that in this thread with a few back-and-forths... So, what color is the truck? :p

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Good question. I *think* it's the ECM. Like all the diagnostic stuff, mileage can be checked from the diag port (and read from the ECM). But honestly, I don't know. I bet @GeneralDisorder or @Ronmar can confirm.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Agreed. I'd love some detail on the 30 minute install. I mean is it "Step 1; Use your 50 ton material handling crane and remove engine" or "remove wheel, turn four bolts, replace wheel"? I admittedly have never broken down one of these hubs but I sorta get the gist. I'm VERY good at...

I can see it now: Bonneville 200 club on the Salt Flats here I come!!!! Will need a little wing spoiler on the back and a cool scarf and helmet....because...reasons !
