I was really lucky in that my FLU came with all of the hydraulic tools and the hydraulic system worked perfectly. I bought my FLU sight-unseen based on extensive photos. I was told that there were no hydraulic tools included. When I received it I found all of the tools and accessories were...
I'm still running SAE10 non-detergent motor oil in the hydraulics and haven't had a problem. Brake fluid is DOT 5, same as what the Army used. You don't want to mix DOT 5 with anything else. Engine oil is SAE 30 diesel oil.
I found more damage to the main wiring harness and I'm trying to find a replacement. I also found a very active mouse nest and cleaned it out. I see that EI has a custom-made main wiring harness for $695.00. It doesn't have the sheaths covering the different branches of the harness, but does...
Well, the mice finally got to my FLU419. I hadn't seen any mouse damage to my wiring previously. However, I went to use the SEE after about 2 weeks sitting and found that the alternator wasn't charging, but everything else worked so I went ahead and used it for one day, planning on...
Just completed digging quite a length of trench with the backhoe and everything was working perfectly. Until today when I started the engine to move the SEE to where I normally park it. The alternator isn't charging and the tachometer isn't reading. I imagine the tachometer is driven by the...
If you don't have sufficient air pressure to the transmission Intermediate Speed Control the piston won't slide back and forth selecting low and high range. There can be other causes as well. In my case, the piston was corroded and my FLU419 broke down on the highway. It was working fine and...
Ever since I received my FLU419, I’ve had issues with the valve body for the stabilizers. The stabilizer on the passenger side would extend, and stick, causing the stabilizer to extend all the way and I always had trouble retracting it. I finally had enough and decided to replace it. The...
Having 20' extensions is a very good idea. I've used my entire 35' on several occasions and it barely reached. My reel has exactly 35', but it barely fits on the reel with the cover installed. My hose has the following nomenclature stamped on it.
Aeroquip FC310 08 HI PAC 3500 MAX OPER PSI...
How long are the hydraulic hoses on other FLU419s? My reel is absolutely full, if not overloaded with hose. I measured my hoses and I have exactly 35 feet of double hose. I looked up the specs for the reel on my FLU419 and it stated that the reel is rated for 15 feet of double hose with the...
I took everything apart again and found the problem. A piece of trash had gotten under the bracket that the slave cylinder bolts to. This resulted in the slave cylinder being slightly too high. I cleaned out the trash and now my clutch and intermediate speed control all work fine. I measured...
When I said I removed the slave cylinder, I was not explicit in my explanation. I didn't remove the slave cylinder. I removed the entire bracket from the top of the transmission via the 4 bolts since this removal was necessary to remove the top of the transmission, so I assumed all of the...
