    True, but it's relatively easy to tell them apart since there is a significant difference in size, besides the "70" cast in the housing (And contrary to what many say, their covers are not interchangeable - even if the bolt pattern is the same for both)

    Exactly that is what I was told (and yet had to confirm): that there are at least two different hub designs, and that the bearings are not the same, for both. Also, the brake shoes on one are 2.5" wide and the other one has 3" shoes. Fact is that the std drums that came with 2.5" will accept...

    I'm assuming they all had #60s (?) So, what has changed and how to id that heavier axle?
