Nice! Very Nice!
Could you share the paint codes and source?
That girl needs a nomination for MV of the month and certainly needs to be added here....http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?58040-The-unofficial-g749-picture-thread!!!!/page9
Beautiful work!
Thats the pattern.....first/second......a sweet bang into third all in level , slide shifter to hilly and hold until you want it to shift instead of the trani deciding. Goose is happy not being shifted but does enjoy beating peterbilts so yes..... I shift on fridays.
It's in one of the...
You can hang onto third longer by pulling the
Shifter back to hilly once in second....waiting for rpm.....then slide
Shifter into level. I replaced pins, took the slop out of the linkages and the shifting
Got better the more I drove .
There is a section on trouble shooting transmission shifting...
It's a lot of work going through the brake system and getting it working right. Nice goin',,,,, see you in Winnipeg for a coffee? We can take Cmpman for a ride.
G749 Air Pak
I missed this M207 at an auction a few years back and it had a re-built air-pak with a part # tag on it. It went for $1600.00 and the boys bidding had more doe or less sense, probably more doe.
The air pak came from Edmonton Brake and Clutch and looks a 37 64 (6) 0. Talked to Joe...
Cumminsbandit had a pic on #222 of this thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?79932-Contemplating-a-Bobber!-To-do-or-not-to-do-that-is-the-question!/page23
Not sure how to do this but I do know it's a good time to prune your trees.
Did you hit it with a hammer?
Do you want an original or are you thinking aftermarket?
I take them apart, clean and re-assemble with good success so far.
Is it running? Pictures man.

Should be lots of those pans around but maybe not if the trucks were put away wet. If you can't find one locally and decide on a swap I can ship you one.
Gives me some incentive to mothball the parts...
G-749 Instructions
I started printing pdf's and building a shop book but it's just easier having the manuals.
The selection in the photos mostly came from http://www.portrayal.com/
Search terms like "G-749 manuals" "M135 TM" "M211 TM" "M220 parts" "M135 parts" will net you different surprises...
Early Deuce Transmission Fluid Flavor
..........If your transmission has 1st, 2nd & reverse but will not shift into 3rd or acts like it is shifting into neutral, the 3-4 clutch pack is toast..............
Sturmy got me.....Must be a short-cut typo, similar to using "prolly" for "probably"...
There are a few photos on this thread of the Oil Pan Cooler Assembly. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?111252-M135-trans-fill-blew-up
....and a warning about hot transmissions to go with it.
If 120psi won't go through the cooling lines it will be real interesting to see what could...
Compressor cooling G749
Page 456 Hot Tub TM 9-8024 says lubricated by engine and cooled by engine.
I was looking for a plumbing route pic but not seeing it. The trani is also water cooled so it makes sense. Could be a photo buried here...
