    RE: M56 See my above comment on the size of the M60 vs. the Abrams. The Abrams is not as "big" or high as the M48/M60 series was, but the Abrams is longer, and some of its armor is denser (i.e. depleted uranium) so the Abrams does weigh more, despite being slightly shorter than the M60 series.
