    We didn't drill the tank we took one of the 1/2" brass elbows out, drilled tapped, then soldered the new fitting to that (the picture shows the fitting reinstalled with the additional threaded fitting sticking out). No leaks and no concern with the tank integrity. Also we did this on the wet...
