    Thanks After seeing the hp is same as motor speed maybe it is the sudden torque of the hydraulic pump that causes gears to strip not horsepower required.     Yes shimmed it twice now I believe the excessive hp is what is stripping the transmission teeth off. It’s a guess of 50 hp. It will bogg the motor down if idling. I’m sure someone knows the pto hp max for a duece vs the transfer case pto?

    years ago I installed a mk17a1 palfanger crane on a deuce chassis with a pto run hydraulic pump. It has served me well except for cold weather days when the oil is cold it will strip the teeth off the pto shaft in the transmission. The hydraulic pump probably pulls 50 hp. Yep you guessed...
