2013 Bethany, OK - July 4th Parade

This year the Oklahoma Convoy will be attending the Bethany, OK July 4th Freedom Festival. I have signed up for 6-7 trucks so let me know who can attend. As a big bonus, candy can be thrown along the parade route.

This parade is along historic Route 66

We had a couple of guys show up for breakfast so we will do that again.

Parade Entry Point: NW 42nd and Rockwell
Lineup Deadline: 0930hrs
Lineup Location: Near NW39 and Peniel - Next to SNU Campus
Parade start : 1000hrs
Parade length: 1 mile


As usual, things may change so please be flexable


In the past we have attended the Edmond Liberty Fest, but seemed to always lose out to the Model A club for 1st place.

OK !! so No Edmond Parade ?? I am in will just have to figure out how to get there ?? LOL !!!

As long as I have a gas tank by then I'll be there lol.

Dave if you want to go to Edmond you jus need to turn in an app.

Just received word that we entry #11, so we will be at the beginning of the parade.

Line up entry is at NW 42 and Rockwell. I'm waiting to hear the time to start lining up.

Thinking about meeting at Wiley Post Airport and convoying the half mile to line up. More details to follow.

I may be adding 1more Deuce to our convoy. A Fire Truck.

I may have talked my friend in to bringing his HUMMWV and the 30mm auto cannon we will see.

Received our paperwork yesterday.

0845hrs - Convoy 1/2 mile to the parade route entrance at NW 42nd and Rockwell. (this is the only spot to enter)
Work our way to the staging area. Spot #11 near NW39 and Peniel. We will be directed along the way.

0900hrs - Decorate trucks if not already done

0930hrs - All entrants must be in place - Riders should be in the area.

1000hrs - Parade starts and the candy throwing begins.

1045hrs - Move to Eldon Lions Park for fun and carnival rides

And remember to bring plenty of water.

M813A1 has dropped out. Also looks like M1075 and Tackettr will be MIA.

Well I'm very glad we didn't go to Edmond! Their was a kid that fell off a float and died! Everyone needs to keep this family in their prayers.

Darn it!! This is a block away from my new house!! Grrr

Anyone doing anything afterwords? My gf and I are looking at taking the deuce out for fireworks, but don't know where to go to pop them

Wow Danny that is horrible, My prayers go out to that family and to those involved. I'll be posting pictures later on once I have a chance to sift threw them. Merlot you should have come out you would have been more then welcome. Not to many places in OKC to shoot your own fireworks legally that I know of but there are some cool fireworks shows downtown. You know maybe we should pick a place to go after the parades and have a "camp out BBQ" kinda thing? It would be fun and if we got the right kinda place we could shoot off fireworks and the kids can swim.....idk food for thought...
