MEP-802A Generator Dying Under Load

MEP-802A Generator plugged up to 50amp plug going to my RV and when I turn anything on in the RV the generator dies under load. Any help? The plugs on the unit itself work fine when I plug anything into them but the cable I have coming from the poles in the unit for the 220 50amp line are not. What did I do wrong? Any help is appreciated.
