FYI napa is having a 60% off filter sale till end of October and ALL mep-802a filters fall under the sale and at %60 percent. Just bought 5 filters of each but air (three of those) for what three airfilters would have cost me locally (i live in Canada). I dont know if this is a national sale or just regional, but i bought them in greater Los Angeles area.

Howdy,
After many different filters out there, I lean towards the Napa/Wix filters. They are well made, have many models covered, and are easy to find.

Howdy,
Has anyone come across a spin-on fuel filter which has the correct water drain fitting on the bottom?

All the others work for the job. I was just wondering why none of the aftermarket ones have the correct size fitting.

Howdy,
The true correct spin-on fuel/water separator model 85285-F has the water drain attached at the bottom. Most of the aftermarket civilian fuel/water filters do not have the same size fitting at the bottom. So, I do not use the fitting or hose. I do not drain off any water. I use the NAPA #3472 without any issues.

I have what may be a stupid question about the WIX 33472 Fuel/Water Seperator...

It comes with a round gasket which I assume goes over the threaded nipple on the fuel filter base. Are folks using this gasket with this filter and the stock filter base? When i set the gasket onto the filter it seems like it sits lower than the outer gasket. Like if I screw on the filter the outer seal will make contact and seal before the inner one ever would since the entire base is a flat surface.
