Try to find a good takeoff from a surplus/scrap yard. Otherwise, Memphis Truck Equipment should have it but be ready to shell out some coin...

Hope that helps,

Dabtl, you are getting a tachometer adapter from me (a little delay in shipping, guess I could blame the holidays..), the speedo adapter is mounted on the transfer case and has a ratio, which must be specified for 900 or 1100 tires, whichever you are running.
1:200 (NSN 2520-00-404-3098 ) for 1100 or 1:187 (NSN 2520-00-562-0421) for 900 tires....

If someone has another, my truck needs one as well, with seal. Mine started leaking on the 370 mile trip to school. NSN would be 2520-00-562-0421, I'm running the 900's. TIA!

I had not looked at this thread in forever. You were absolutely correct. I claim old timers not alzheimers for the mistake.

It worked, by the way. Thanks again.

Can anyone identify the speedometer adapter on my deuce. It's not the standard one that is on most trucks. Need help as I've got to get it squared away for a safety inspection. Here are the pics. Mine is one the left.

Why not, what is different? Clean it and see if you can find 0.187:1 stamped on the housing. That is the correct one for a Deuce with 9.00-20 tires.

The one on the right is the tachometer adapter.

That should be a "Steward Warner" logo... and yes, its .187, which is the correct (reduction)ratio to run 9.00-20 sized tires.

Do you still think this is not the standard adapter, found on 99% of all Deuces?
