Hi guys, new member checking in here. About 3 months ago, my Dad and I got our hands on this 69' M35A2. We're in the process of restoring it and using it as a shop/show truck.

It wasn't in bad shape when we bought it from Ken Kublo Surplus, up in Laurel Lake PA. It had the usual rust and minor dents n' dings, but after a cleaning and painting, it looks pretty good. We used a CARC-substitute spray-on you can get in rattle-cans from armyjeepparts.com SOmeday, we may get around to a more realistic paint job, but we had to do somthing to please the vehicle inspectors who wouldn't give us our antique plates untill we painted the rust back into submission.

Right now, it needs only 1 mechanical part, a valve cover gasket to replace a leaky front one, aside from that, it's just a long line of cosmetic problems, faded marker lights, faded paint, a few missing eye-hooks for the tarp, etc. But it runs and drives, and we just love rolling though suburbia in it, getting a lot of odd looks, and the occasional thumbs-up. It's a real crowd pleaser <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve">

LTRN;
Welcome to the forum. I got the shop box on the back of my Deuce from Kublo's. I couldn't beat the price! Nice people to work with! Keep us posted on how the project goes! Saturn Surplus has about everything for these trucks at very good prices. They are fairly close to where you are (3 hours I think). Stop on by and visit if you have the chance. You won't regret it!!!!

Yeah, we've been planning a little "field trip" down to Saturn one of these days, when we first when deuce hunting, we actualy went down to the Navy Logistics Operations base near Carlisle, but the ones they had there were mostly beat-to-hell-and-back. Thanks for the welcome
