Yep, under a tent fly like almost everyone else in the swap meet area. It isn't like we don't have some of the smartest people in the world when it comes to preparing for an event like this, because we do.

I have only heard one complaint about the heat this year. Would I like for it to be 72 all day and 62 at night all night? Yes. But I'd also like to see it in Hawaii with a nice off-shore breeze.
Same here, everybody I talked to thought it was GREAT rally weather, the bad thing about moving the Rally back to Nov. is that we could be getting into rain and some of the first snows will hit the north which will keep a lot of the northern members from attending. Going back to Dec. or Jan. will FOR SURE mean RAIN/COLD for the rally and SNOW for the north which WILL mean the down fall of the GREAT SSGAR.

I'll take cold any day over GA heat, but I'm a northern fella (dam yankees:D).

Another factor to consider is the time change, don't set the rally past 1 NOV. This early darkness is throwing me off...

My vote for what it's worth leave the date as is.
Sure don't want to be trying to recover truck in cold wet nasty mud.
Warm mud is way better.

If all we have to fuss about is the weather at this point, I guess we're good to go. I had a great time at the SSGR14 this year. If the date moves, cool and I'll adjust plans accordingly.

I do prefer it a little cooler for camping, but I agree that moving the rally into November would put us on standard time and it gets dark early. It's also nice to have it warm if you do get wet or muddy, as opposed to cold, wet and muddy. And speaking of wet, it tends to be more frequently gray, overcast, and damp during November.

Barring any major personal problems, I'll be there whenever it happens. I know I voiced my distaste for the warm muggy nights, but early to mid October is probably going to give us our best combination of weather and no conflict with holidays.

Yes there were! I bought one and Ferro made me a great deal! Kenny, did you make it out of there without any plastic "additions" to your driveshaft?

It's funny you bring this up. Not only did I make it out of there without any plastic "additions", I made it home without any large zip ties in my stuff. I know a brought a bag of a hundred. Odd, I don't recall using any. Need to restock soon. I already loaded an assortment of springs in my junk.

Today's average weather in the USA is a good reason NOT to have the Rally in November.

On the other hand, it could be fun to watch trucks trying to complete frozen trails or braking through fresh ice ... for about five minutes, and then its back to warmer shelters. I don't like too warm weather, and this year was on the edge, but still easily survivable, certainly with the very nice evenings and not too cold mornings. Daytime temps in the fifties or below and especially night time in the low thirties or below is not really comfortable for a week camping out, sitting outside a shelter in comfortable cloths or taking your chow in the MKT.

Frozen trails? Ice? In November in Georgia? When did this happen? Maybe the very last week of November with a arctic front?

It was a low of 40F and a high of 65F here yesterday.
