Hmmwv 6.5l purchased, turns out to be a 6.2l

The data plate picture is only visible while the auction is in process. I complained about that on one of mine and had it explained to me. Do a search and most of the data plate photos are hidden on most of the sold units.

    Forklifts on IronPlanet

From what our Sales Rep (on both sides) are telling us is that IP/GP will remain a separate entity for the most part, almost like Mascus is for Ritchie and Kruse Energy and CAT Auction Services is for IronPlanet. The way it was explained was that IronPlanet would continue to do the Online Stuff...

    Forklifts on IronPlanet

My company buys pretty much all of our equipment from either IronPlanet or Ritchie (which according to reports will be one and the same pretty soon). Remember GovPlanet and IronPlanet sell completely different equipment. GP is mostly used up DoD equipment, whereas IronPlanet equipment is...

    939 EUC's ? Months after auction???

So alot of confusion on this issue. My buddy, who is a regular GP buyer and has an in with some of the folk in Ft Worth, received the ground truth on what is going on. Take this with a grain since it is 2d hand information. Basically what he was told is this. The DLA and Dept of Commerce and...

    Hmmwv oil sample analysis

The TM states that idle pressure should be 15 PSI. As far as the drain bolt not looking like it has been touched, that is not uncommon since most of us (ex-green suit wearers) always used a vampire pump to pull POL samples through the dipstick tube, so I would assume GP uses the same procedure...

Help Identify 6.5 with NO casting numbers

According to the TM 9-2320-280-10 Table 1-5 Engine Data for 6.5L Engine the oil pressure at idle should be 10psi (69 KPa)....sounds like you got a good machine. There is no real difference when it comes to resale value because of who cast the engine block. If you are pounding the crap out of...

Help Identify 6.5 with NO casting numbers

If it has the Melton sticker it is a Melton Rebuild, not a GEP. But as Warhorse said, if it runs I wouldn't sweat it. Plus the Melton's are better than the GEPs in my opinion, and with only 43 miles (yes I know never trust a MV odo) I would sit around fat and happy and have fun with it. The...

What should I do...and what are my options legally.

I know both the dealer and exact HMMWV you bought, since the yard you bought it from is less than 5 miles from my house and I pass it everyday. I have also known the Dealer in question for over 20 years and his integrity is above reproach, so your attempt at slander is ludicrous. I have...

    M998 with no EUC necessary?

Once again ya'll are forgetting one simple fact...GovPlanet is not selling anything, they are an Auction House that allows sellers to dispose of their equipment. In this case the Seller who is DLA requires that the HHA and EUC be completed prior to taking possession of a HMMWV. They also...

1994 HMMWV A1 differences from the 93 Please help

The year on a HMMWV has no real bearing on it's capabilities. An M998 built in 1986 is the same specs as one built in 1993. The different models are going to determine what specs the machine is, i.e. M998, M998A1, M1038, M1123, M1097, etc...

Are the HMMWV on Govplanet/Ironplanet legit

I have to disagree with that statement. Only the Demil Q and F items require an EUC. The Demil A items are open to the public and available for export, regardless of citizenship. I have several trailers and other items that have not required an EUC.

    6.2 or 6.5 in HMMWV

Exactly on the 6.5 the mount bolt is on the right, 6.2 the mount is on the left. Of course this is a last ditch method, if you are lucky enough to have or find the embossing then go with that. Just throwing out alternative methods for distinguishing the models.

    6.2 or 6.5 in HMMWV

Here is another way, pull the dog house in the cab so you can see the rear of the engine. Be careful using the bypass hose since they are interchangeable and can be installed on a 6.2. The majority of the 6.2 v 6.5 can be decided that way, but you never now what Joe will use to fix his ride...
