The valve in front of the transfer case locks the front axle in when the transfer case it switched to low gear. Without the dash switch being engaged. I would suggest against driving your truck (unless your on private property) until you get this issue resolved. You could have a catastrophic...
Getagun; Replacing the valve in front of the transfer case (post 56) resolved the airing up problem. Then flipping the piston fixed the air leaking into the stack after I flipped the dash switch.
So after replacing the above valve, I thought everything was good to go, NOPE! I flipped the dash switch and there was the air in the stack again. So I called Marcfeld up and he pointed me in the right direction again with a few tests to do. I aired the truck up with shop air and when I flipped...
I found the problem( Major thanks to a fella named Marc, not sure if he has an account here or not.)With his guidance we went through what could be the problem. He suggested that I take the lines off this valve and blow shop air through them to see if this was it. Bingo! I blew air through the...
Well went out today and started the red camo, then started big paperweight and of course the air intake leak was present again. I made 2 video's of the problem, mainly because I was holding the phone shutoff button and didn't recognize it. Any help would be appreciated...
Ok, I have no idea what to think now. I started bigboy yesterday just to make sure that the problem was still there, and of course it was. I came home today and helped Yolner load his stuff and then took the dash switch for the front axle out. I thought that I would take the exit line off and...
I hooked up shop air today and the air is escaping into the intake stack. I then removed the air line from the cylinder on the rear drivers side just in front of the parking brake drum. The air stopped leaking into the intake. SO I followed that line down and took all 3 lines off from the item...
I was able before the rain came in today to replace the shift lock solenoid and cylinder. I also replaced the damaged transfer case shifter electronic components. The parking brake wires have been disconnected ( because I don't have the replacement part yet) . So with the horn still disconnected...
I just went out and disconnected wire 26 from the new horn solenoid( not used stock) and the horn did not blow. The original problem is still there with or with out the transfer case engaged. So should I replace the shift lock solenoid or cylinder next?
Plumber I appreciate the motivational words, Very kind of you good sir! Which Is why I started looking at the schematics today.
Hulk I agree with why the pressure isn't building. At this point I can't tell if the original problem still exists. As soon as there is enough air in the system you...
That's the problem plumber, every time i get it fixed i can drive it for maybe a month before something else catastrophic goes wrong and it sits for another 3-4 months!
Alright I decided to start with the small stuff and work my way up. SO I replaced the transfer lever switch and wires. Then I tried to start BigPOS and of course as soon as 59 psi is reached the horns start blowing. I unplugged the horn switch and horns kept blowing, Then I removed the switch...
I've searched the forums and repair parts TM for the 5th gear lock up solenoid and can't find it. Does it have another name? Or does anyone have a picture? Thanks for the help already and I know that I'm not taking the advice really well, But I do appreciate it.
I made this reply already once today, but for whatever reason it didn't post. SO the news is worse than what thought, All 4 wires around the shifter and the brake lever are screwed. Can anyone tell me what thing in the picture with the green arrow on the right is?
Ok, I did what Swamp Donkey suggested and **** has broken loose! I pushed the button in and no change, next I pulled the lever up with button in and still no change. I then lowered the shifter and sparks flew from one of the wires and soon after the horn started blaring again! So I shut the...
I tried a few things yesterday. First was I started the truck ran it up to 59 then applied the parking brake,no change. Released it and applied a few times no change. So I crawled until the truck and ran the air lines down. There are 2 valves on the transfer case. Looked 1 up in the TM and...
