I have a 2004 M1123 w/a speed odometer cable
Can the new style electric 80mph odometer be installed ?

Like postman said with the correct wiring, but I think its extra unnecessary work, I use a garmin GPS in mines for the speed and that's very accurate. I have the speedo with the cable but it doesn't work

You can also go with a GPS speedo, many fit, run on 10-36V and are much more accurate, if you search around there are some that look right at home in the HMMWV dash, and for less than $100 search for 3 3/8" and also 85mm
Just an example

You will have to mod the bracket, simple mod just cut a little off the bracket the dash is "thicker" on the HMMWV.

Autometer also makes a black mechanical lighted speedo. Looks very oe and has a trip odmoter.
Just needs a 24v bulb and splice in their wiring.

Others make mechanical speedometers.
