Had the duece out this weekend and decided to bring a few buds along. Sarge is a boxer-his sidekick is Chuck a sort of basset mix up. Jerry came with too-he is a little camera shy Springer. These guys love riding with the windshield open. Short in town rides at 30 MPH is the max for noise. Quick hose out for fur control and she is good for another day.
Lat picture shows my Gichner enclosure that is being converted into camper/fish house. This will have an air bag suspension that will allow entire assembly to sit flat on the ground. Building a pop up top too-will post progress pictures.

It is a 788. When I am finished with it, she will deflate her airbags and sit right down on the ice. I am making it for use as a camper as well. Adding stove, bathroom and pop up top.

Pete, did you ever build the pop top? I'm doing something similar, and was hoping to figure out the dimensions/spacing of the beams inside the walls. And how did you mount the camper? I'm putting mine directly on my truck frame (I think).

Would love to pick your brain!

thanks!

Have not built it yet. Have been building an expedition camper which made the 788 sit in the barn. Go to the Gichner website-they have pretty good drawings on these that show the internal spacing of supports. As far as mounting direct to frame-it will work. Make brackets that attach to the 788 hard points. Note-the floor on these is self supporting.
For the pop top-make an aluminum angle iron shape curb andf secure to the top.
These things have great rear doors on them-they are light in weight and seem well built.
