This topic got me worried so I started looking mine over, no zerk anywhere, now wondering if I might ought to go ahead and disassemble and grease/pack the bearing

Yes it is, I'm glad I decided to take mine apart, the rubber looks to be in good shape, but the bearing is sized, rusted on to the drive shaft.
The splines inside the yoke are pretty rusty and pretty dry, glad I took mine apart, once I replace the bearing and get everything lubed up good I should be good to go.
