All,
I thought I'd share my project. I needed a trailer mounted, all in 1 solution that could hold 50-100ft of cable, capable of handling the full output of the MEP-803A. I live in TX, do this is primarily for Hurricanes. Although the only time I've used it is during the recent winter storm. System is currently limited by the 50A RV power inlet that I'm using (which I'm protecting with a 50A backfed bread w/interlock). I got lucky, and I was able to source the cable reel, cable, and a handful of the Powertight connectors for ~$500.
Build list
*Trailer mounted MEP-803A
*Hannay Reel (Sorry, I don't have a model #, I bought this second hand)
*100ft 4gauge (L1, L2, N, G) Type W cable
*Appleton Powertite 4W 4P 6044BC connectors
*Appleton Powertite 4W 4P ADR6044 power inlet
*Charger plug - Graywacke part# GEISLV-SR (tight fit, but it works)
