LOL! I was going to ask is there any but I see post from other zonies so that answered the question:) Is there any good salvage yards in AZ for the big military trucks? Any good places to buy the big trucks that have been checked out so there's a little more certainty than the GL auctions? I am keeping an eye out for a 2.5-5 ton to build a heavy duty offroad RV or BOV.

Sorry for the late reply.... I'm in Waddell... we tend to get one or two M35a's and two or three jeeps every month at the (Out West Store) every third Saturday of the month around 4pm for a classic car and tractor and vehicle show. It is a small gathering at the corner of Cotton Ln and Glendale Ave. Come on by!

Can you post some pics? Not sure what color that is but you can get semi-gloss OD in spray cans from Rapco or anybody who sells Aervoe paint. We have a surplus store in Phoenix that sells Aervoe but they don't carry any semi-gloss.

Cover Sheet for Deuce.jpg

This is the color of my deuce, it was in the movie "X men first class" I have been doing some reading could this be 383 green??? I am also looking for the tail gate warning plate plate that is in the center and is riveted to the metal and reads "secure side panel front locks prior to latching tailgate secure side rack braces to floor when transporting troops" , also i'm looking for the front axle air switch aluminum plate that says in-out for 6x6. one last thing i'm looking to put a complete drivers seat on the passenger side, consisting of a complete spring seat bottom and top seat section.
Thanks

Nice truck Dez! I don't think that's 383- it's more like an olive drab semi-gloss. The prior owner would be the best source of that info, if available. Try sending a PM to SteveKuhn, he's really well versed in paint issues.
Try searching the site or Google for the data plates- they have been discussed here many times. Same thing for the seats- lots of seating options available.

Hi,
just got word back by e mail (they have been great to work with) today from Rapco i sent them a paint chip to get the correct color the first time. They say The paint number is 34079 Camouflage Forest Green. i will be ordering 1 spray can for $6.50 to try it out. For the seat i bought the complete seat base nos on e-bay for $275.00 plus $58.00 freight, all the used ones were going for $200.00 plus freight and needed to be rebuilt.
The complete seat frame and cushions new from tnj murray is $165.00 plus freight. on ebay just the back and bottom cushions go for $152.00 no deal there. the deuce is shaping up nicely. I also had the alternator rebuilt it wasnt putting out 24v that cost me $230.00 cash we have a great alternator and starter rebuild shop. I also just finished mount the M16 x2 rifle rack on the dash i got on e bay for $45.00 plus $12.00 freight i'm not feeling it on the buttstock mounts on the floor, i think i'm going to fab something up that doesnt stick up so high off the floor.
I also just figured out what type of brake fluid is used from a very useful source here on steel soldiers. i have found out that i have the short air pack also the brakes are great.

i also orderd from amazon.com the monroe seat shock for the drivers seat the stock one is toast

Hi,
The paint rapco color # 34079 comouflage forest green was wrong (too flat no gloss) but april at rapco worked with me. I did a test spray of the color 24052, Semi-Gloss Marine Corps Forest Green. It has more of a sheen and it looks great. now i got the right exterior color. now i need to find the correct interior color for the seat frame and floor boards. will be sending off an sample to rapco this comming week. are there any local rallys to go to in the phoenix, flagstaff areas or maybe nevada?
