HELLO FELLAS,
we are in the middle of a full blown resto-mod of a 1962 M170 jeep.
does anybody have a picture (even one) of the e-brake handle installed in a M170 jeep?

i know this sounds really mundane, but we have searched extensively for a clear picture of it installed. if anyone has this can you please share it with us? we are truly appreciative of you time. i am attaching a few pics of our resto-mod as well. she was used on the flight here at Ft Lewis hence the yellow,
fyi: do a search of that handle, you will be amazed at what you will not find:):)

UPDATE to our question concerning the M170 Medical Jeep Hand-Brake:

we are just following up with some closure so it may assist in the future to someone on this site,, again thank you for looking and the participation.

we looked in numerous areas for a clear picture of the e-brake install for this jeep, most of the tech mans didn't show what i was looking for and another member (NDT) assisted with a pic.
when we bought this jeep most of it came in boxes, we ordered a new handle but when we got to the e-brake it was a little mysterious in how it was installed, when NDT provided that one pic it made sense, we had a part in the box that we couldn't figure out where it went and the manuals didn't show that piece, well we found out there was an extra bracket for the handle itself. we are attaching pics of the final install (minus the cable retention clamp as we are still final adjustments). i have provided two pics from the tech man that shows a pic of that extra plate but overall the document is silent on any other data concerning that bracket. we also attached pics of our final install.

of note, i had longer screws on hand and instead of buying new ones, i cut these to length, the three screws from the handle to the bracket are 1/2" due to being any longer they impact the floor and will not allow the bracket to seat properly, the remaining four are 3/4" long and all are 5/16.

It looks like Willys just used the usual M38A1 emergency brake handle and added that funny bracket to adapt it.

NDT,
that is correct, this what we were trying actually see in the pic you sent, it still hid in there, but once we compared the piece we had to the pic, we knew what was going on with it at that point.

CPDOG........thanks. I have been trying to figure out how the handle was attached. I modified the brake handle and it pullls up on the left side of the transmission. Maybe I can modify now that I know where the handle is supposed to be how it is mounted. Thanks.....

The Kaiserwillys.com website has a service diagram of the parts.

Not quite what you are looking for, but better than nothing.

I found these pictrues of the correct brake for a M170. You could have someone fabricate the mounting brakcet. The brake is for a M38A1. I found a brand new handle on ebay from Athens (Not GA but Greece. Good Luck
