M52A2 Transmission Housing Cracked

I need to pick up another 5 ton tranny for my M52A2.
I've got 2 questions.
Will the tranny from a M818 work?
This is a standard tranny, will an OD tranny fit in it;s place?

yes there the same case. Just the ones inback of the cummins has OD and the ones with the multi do not. Both will interchange.

PS the shift patterns are differnet also

For the M52 (M39 series), fifth forward speed is direct drive on the 6352 transmission (gasoline models) and an overdrive gear on the 6453 transmission (diesel models).

For the M818, all are the 6453.

Reverse - 7.33 to 1.00

6.09 to 1.00
6.07 to 1.00
