OT-810 steering diff repair

Has anyone ever had the steering diff from an OT-810 apart? I have it out and half disassembled but can't figure out how to remove the flanged sleeves that mount the brake drums and they are blocking removal of key components. It's retained by a locking ring internally and schematics aren't clear enough whether it's a giant C-clip or snap ring.
Thanks,
Mark
