TA-1042 telephone

Can anyone tell me if the TA-1042 digital non-secure voice telephone (DNVT) or the older version the TA-954 can be connected to a commecial phone line and what settings need to be used to complete this?

The DNVT is useless without the LEN and SEN that goes with it...
