Bottom holes work better with bolts / nuts on Luverne guard .Mounted my Luverne brush guard up last night. Leave it to me to do something back assward. First I put the tow hooks on upside down. Then I put them on the wrong sides nut facing the bracket. That prevents the guard from having clearance to mount..I digress. That guard is a heavy SOB. Fought with it for quite some time just to get the holes lined up. Any idea why these come with flimsy pins that don't fit the holes? Those seem to be useless and there are only two.
Ok, thinking outside the box here. Need opinions on this, as in go or no go. I'm thinking that I take the original l-brackets and flimsy brush guard that came on my HMMWV, modify the bracket by cutting a piece off and mount it to the rear as a guard for the body / tail gate. If I can back into something I will at some point. May keep a pine tree from caving my tail gate in. Gay or not gay? Yeah I'm not politically correct either.

Instead of 4 removable pins, replace the bottom two with bolts/nuts. This tightens it up a bit but still allows the guard to swing down when you have to open the hood.Do show and tell this method.

I have a sifferent brushguard, but when i put it on, i set it on the ground upside down and backwards. Tilt in. Install pivot bolts. Swing up. Install pins. Oh man! Post up some pics when you get it!Got an email saying my EUC cleared today for my M1045A2 Slant. Sent in Dec 13th and cleared today. Headed out @ 3am in the morning. Wish me luck.

The pins for my Luverne guard are pretty stout. I believe they're 0.5" diameter detent pins. Perfect fit. Here's the trick to installing one easily:Do show and tell this method.
