The hood star on a angle is new to me. Maybe the applier was looking at the passenger windshield when masking it. What are those fender mounted lights? Special USAREUR signals?

The applier of the stars did a lousy job, he was as well uninformed as a bad painter, and apparently did not have that great informal resource of Steel Soldiers, and a delicatly masked passenger window. I shall correct the stars in the process of painting the deuce, of course.
The lights are the normal, later style turn signals, they just look a bit odd because of the angle of view, I guess.

No kidding - I used a porno mag as masking material when I did my M416 trailer a long time ago, to cover the lights, data plates, tires, etc. Picture me outside in the parking lot ripping apart a porno mag and taping it to my trailer, outside my apartment. Needless to say, I got a couple weird looks from other tenants. :)

Your lucky you did not get a old bald neighbor with a trench coat (and nothing else) and hairy palms watching you while he played pocket pool. "That right. That right. Cover up that nasty wheel."
