just trying to gather up everything I might need for my trip back- is there a substitute for the 13/16" budd socket? I can't seem to find one very easily in town.

Will a crescent do the trick in a pinch?

Yeah, you can't really substitute anything for this item. Surplus lug wrenches and bars show up on EBay alot. They work in a pinch but aren't very good!

Speaking of sockets and lug nuts n such, here's one for ya...When I went to Dr. Mo to pick up the deuce, I had to remove 2 outer duals to get it on the trailer. My 3/4" drive socket wasnt quite up to the task, so I stroll over to the motor pool building to see if I could beg a bit of assistance. Got just the thing right here, says the man in OD coveralls and hands me a gen-yoo-ine mil spec deuce nutbuster. Might as well take one of the longer ones too...works great for gettin' the outers off, 'specially if you have a jackstand to hold up the end of it. Well, thanks says I, this'll be a big help. No problem, pal, courtesy of Uncle Sam, and good luck... So to make a long story longer, yeah the lug wrench works in a pinch; we got the deuce on the trailer without a hitch and now the wrenches reside in the deuce OVM box where they belong. Anyway,Thanks Uncle and thanks OD guy! Keep 'em rolling!

Patch,
Say hello to my Dad there in West Buxton. He's a real die hard BoSox and Pats. fan! He's there in town. Look at my last name in my profile. He hasn't seen Desert Storm yet (my Deuce) but he remembers those trucks well.

Hey DR- That's a roger!! Small world, huh?! Always glad to meet another NE sports fan. Looking at your info, seems like you got a young train nut in the house. When you guys come east to visit, we should get together. I work on the RR and can show you & Nick around the place. I'm in the book... GO SOX !!!
