2 1/2 ton axle interchange

howdy, does any one know if you can swap a Ball CV type front u joint with the actual U joint type or even if the u joint is tougher like the magazine says?. I took my spare apart and found balls rolling all over the floor even as much as i hoped not to.

The plan is to ditch the short shaft and swap in a long one to widen it for the rear to match the width of the box and add stability.

How bout who has a one or two for sale?

Yep they are interchangeable. Call bret at boyce equipment. He has a pile of them. I've seen the pile. And the mag is right. the newer u-joint style is stronger.
