Possible new forum software.... please read!

Hello all,
I have been looking at new forum softwares trying to find something with more functions and features for the SS Forum. Please look at the features that this one has to offer and let me know what you think. There are some forums currently using the software listed to the right on the home page. They inlcude Jacksonville Jags, Capitol Records, etc... It looks pretty feature intensive and might be a great upgrade for us. Hello, SteelSoldiers. Thought I'd check out some MVs other than 715 for a bit, and thought I'd make a suggestion, if you don't mind. I belong to a lot of different Forums but the best I've seen as far as features go is the one that our Airsoft Registry uses. Yeah, yeah, no lip about the airsoft! Anyway, check out MAAPR's forum at http://www.maapr.com/phpbb2/index.php It might be something you would be interested in. You could Email Josh (JDaveUSMC) and I'm sure he could fill you in on that particular forum setup. Something to check out anyway.

Thanks all. I have actually tried to change us to the phpBB2 software before, Elwenil. The problem is this. The SS site is hosted on a Windows 2000 server, which is not set up, unfortunately, to work with PHP. They could move us to the Linux server, but I would have to redo all of the content! I can't justify doing that right now. So, we have to look at forums based either on ASP or PERL. The one we use now is ASP and so it the dotNetBB which would make for an easy transition. The dotNetBB software is the nicest I have found for perl or asp yet. Plus it uses MS SQL database instead of MS Access and SQL is faster so it should speed our forum up too. Any other thoughts y'all?
