Well it is brake replacement time.
Got ready to pull drum and it is hung on the shoes.
I have the brake pods caged.
Got the drum to move about an inch then no more.
The drums are very worn with big groves visable.
Anyway is there a trick to getting the shoes to draw in farther?
Or just break out the torch and heat the drums.
Any ideas appreciated.

Working on a 900 series? It's the only one I can remember with full air brakes.

Disconnect the slack adjusters so the camshaft can turn, should allow the brake shoes to move away from the drum. (this is just my idea, someone else may have a better one.)

Should be able to just back off the slack adjusters to get enough room. May not have to disconnect them.

Your sugestion of slack adjuster was correct.
Had to pull the brake pod and slack adjuster then the drum came right off.
