Will a S250 fit an the bed of an M715? Will it look funny? I won one of the shelters at Ft Riley today and intend to use it for storage for now but If my truck doesnt sell (I really kind of want to keep it) I'm gonna fix it up and maybe make the shelter into a small camper for me and the kids to play in.

Fits perfect and looks great. Have to remove troop seats. The shelter is a dream camper, because there was never any radio stuff inside. These S250s were rolling tool boxes for the MLRS "scudbusters" The 230 OHC is not fond of it, however. Will still do 50 mph. You made a great buy!

Just went outside with the tape measure :-D after searching for the dimensions in another thread.

If I remember right we had S250 shelters in the back of our radio maint. hummers in our squadron and they had a mounting bracket bolted to the bed and we didnt use the crossed tie downs. Anyone have any of these brackets? Or even know what I'm talking about

My M1037 has one of those brackets in back. On the 715, I made up some cable/turnbuckle assemblies to tie the lifting rings on the S250 to the tiedown loops on the 4 corners of the 715 bed. Looks great and no holes had to be drilled in the bed . . .

Got any pics of your setup? Getting all excited now (first thing won from gl). Now Im really debating if I really want to sell the truck. I do want something bigger like a deuce or 5ton tractor, but the more I look and with work right now I think they are out of my range. I know Im not gonna get enough out of the M715 to cover something bigger. Oh why oh why did I even buy an MV.

If you enjoy off roading, the 715 is a better pick than a 5 ton for sure. They ride rough unloaded and if you get stuck, it is all over. The 2 1/2 ton is lots of fun, but is a lot of truck for a jeep trail.

I bought the truck initially for the coolness of owning one. Its a "Jeep" thing around my place. I have a 99 TJ with 33's that I take wheeling now and drive daily. I also have a 90 YJ with a 44 front axle and dana60HD under the rear riding on 38's for the hardcore stuff, buts still waiting on a motor. The MV is nothing but a toy. I dont intend to do trail riding with it, wether its a M715, M35a2 or a M818. it will only be for Ice cream runs, just wanted a head turner. Ive seen some 818's on some big ol' tire that would turn heads for sure. And dont worry guys I dont intend turn heads by doing stupid things in an MV that would bring a bad name to the hobby. Ive seen some concern on here about that stuffand would hate to see the vehicles be forced to go away before my kids have a chance to drive them.
