i cant seem to find the right oil for my trans anywhere, not parts stores, not wally mart not anywhere. i say i need gl-1 90 weight oil and people give me funny looks.
what is the exact title of the oil some of you have used in your transmissions from the amsoil company?
if i put gl-5 90w in my trans what is gonna happen? i heard somthing about syncros getting screwed up.
also is it true that gl-1 90w is just a 90 weight motor oil?
please help, my truck is stuck in front of my garage door with an empty tranny!!

Son of a gun, went to Walmart the other day to get some stuff and went back to see about the GL-1. I've bought 3 or 4 5 gallon pails here before. Nothing zero nada. They just don't have it any more.I'm going to drift out to the Walmart in farmland to see if they have it. If not, next stop, Tractor Supply!

We use 75/90 weight from Amsoil. It runs great using this. We use Amsoil in the engine and in the axels, also in the wheel bearings, also in the transfer case. By using the Amsoil synthetic we get better fuel mileage.
