Thanks,
Mike

Prob an engineer piece of equipment...used for pumping water for concrete batch plant or some such mission.
I know a farmer that bought several to pump irrigation water from the river to his fields.
You never know when something like that will come in handy...could be used for firefighting in remote areas.

WM,
Thats what I was thinking. Hooked up to my deuce or the 5 ton I can pull it up to the power lines for fires or set up remote a filling station for the areas in town where we have no hydrants. It would free up 1 engine company. But I have no idea how much water it would push out.
The engine is locked up. But I unlocked a 1957 ford v8 with Marvel Mystery oil and moms pea soup:p. But I checked it out no oil leaks, no cracks in block, freeze plugs are still in and there is oil in the crank case still. I can get it for next to nothing but I wanted to see what kind of water it could push before I got into it.

The engine is a V4HD, used in many, many applications back when gas motors were in vogue. I had one in a 610 Bobcat. They are easy to fix and parts are out there. The engine has the exhaust pointing up, so any rust hole in the muffler etc means water in the cylinders.

I (my fire dept) have 2x received from DOD thru FEPP program. We have for tanker fill. Ours look identical to your unit except the intake (above towing tongue) is a wye with 2ea 4" valves. Have seen many of these available thru DRMS. Never seen a triple intake.

GREAT pumps. Rating is 350gpm @ 275ft of head (120psi water). Discharge to an open tank I timed at 500gpm.

Mil used for relay pumping of water or petroleum (depending on the company) thru 4" hoseline. Replaced by identical unit with Deutz diesel.

Well 4 days of PB Blast and MMO and it spins like a top. But the plugs are garbage. I have never seen plugs like these before. They had the ceramic on the inside steel on the outside and heavy insulation all the way down to the Magneto (I think thats what it is it is). Where this pump was originally used for fuel pumping, I am going to use it for pumping water. Do I need all the explosion proof crap on it? Can I get regular spark equipment for this thing or do I have to go boom proof like it is. And where can I get a wiring diagram for this?
