Would these wheels work on a 1009?

yes they will work but why go to a smaller rim? The stock is 8.5 inches wide. And that style looks like F#@% on a CUCV.
I was more talking about the wheel itself.

If these will fit, then a 16inch wheel will also.

I'm a cheap ass and I can find used 16inch tires easier than
15 inch tires...

I just have to be sure to check the backspacing.

Be careful in your cheapness. Should you ever have to buy a new tire 16" tires cost more than 15". They say they have to reinforce the sidewalls more is why.

This generation GM does not use hub centric wheels. So basically as long as they clear the front hub and the brakes you can use them.
