insurance- who do you have and how much?

my insurance agent is pretty much blacklisted as of today, he refuses to return any calls and between my brother and I we have a house, truck, car, three motorcycles, and a t-bucket insured with him, go figure <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_angry.gif" alt="Angry">

anyhow, I assume many of you use classic insurance, like parade type stuff? Does the vehicle just have to be over 25 years old then they put a mileage limit on it? What are the savings over a normal drive it all you want policy?

What about those with "normal" insurance, who did you find to do that?

I have American Family, and since I had "Truck" plates he said it was over the weight limit<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_angry.gif" alt="Angry">
Well since I was sandblasting and painting it, I didn't need the insurance. Then I got the plate renewal in the mail and it was more than my commerical dump truck<img src="emoticons/icon_smilie_bitchin.gif" alt="Bitchin"> So I replated the deuce as a RV problems solved<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve"> Plates are cheap, no restrictions on driving it, and my agent now insures it<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_cool.gif" alt="Cool"><img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve">

I have Farm Bureau Financial Services insurance.

Historical is $68 a year
Regular is $320 a year.

I'm 28, have no tickets and home-multi car discounts. I just switched from Farmers because they sucked. I checked into about 70% of the ones in the phone book and FB came out on top. Plus they have some nice perks they offer. Discounts here and there.

hmmm.... I'll have to look into that. Here in NV Country INsurance is underwritten by Farm Bureau, that's who I have. I guess I'll have to really try to track down my agent and ask about the historical plan. thanks

I can't remember exactly what I pay, but it comes out to around $300.00 a year, or about $25 a month to insure my M880 with Liability only. My M880 is registered as a normal W200 Dodge truck.

that's what I'm thinking. I'm going to first try to get a quote on a 1970 Kaiser large truck or something generic like that. I won't use any words like "Deuce" or "6x6" so that my agent isn't scared. I have a feeling it's going to be a crap quote though since he wants $800 a year for a t-bucket(almost 25, no accidents), he claims they don't offer any mileage restricetd policies

I use State Farm here in Indiana. I have #26,000 plates and use 'Storm whenever I want. I pay $43/month for a $200 deductable full coverage policy. My agent wants to BUY one similar to mine from me! How's that for an insurance agent!

good news, it looks as though Hagerty will take the deuce for a good price- $165 a year considering I'm 24. I quoted it being older and it said $90. Then I called and can get my bucket and Ducatis over there all under one roof and pay about 1/4 of what I'm paying now. Ooohh boy, can't wait to tell my agent to find some other sucker!

I have Condon & Skelly, my insurance bill comes to almost $500 a year, that includes the M35, M1009, HMMWV, M109A3, M151s, my trailers, my '69 Mach 1 and '65 Mustang, and my '78 Bronco. The more vehciles you have insured the less it gets since they realize you can only drive one at a time. They do require the usual stored indoors, fire protected building, and limit them to 2500 miles a year which mine never see.

Progressive. 2 fitty a year. Includes a little medical coverage for the little nieghborhood "storm-troopers".

They knew what it was! They said they already do a few of 'em. No limits other than work. Can't work out of it.

no kidding? I'm surprised. It makes it a little easier knowing that, since when I switch from Country and put the Deuce, bucket, and bikes at Hagerty that leaves my truck, and maybe one of the bikes at most likely Progressive. I had Progressive before but they jacked the rates sky high on the bike so I had to switch What I'm worried about is Hagerty's "must be garaged" requirement. Can't they just do liability? I mean, how do they expect you to keep a deuce indoors? Does a carport count? Maybe somebody who has such a requirement can help

I forgot to mention, the 250 does not include comp or collision. It's AZ minimum required liability only.
Hope I don't mow anything. I'd hate to be payin' for a flattened Hummer 2, or a plastic fender on some 50k and up Brand X sport-ute. <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_nono.gif" alt="No-no">

Here in Georgia we had Progressive insurance on our Deuce that was the only place thet would insure it at the time and they told us it had to be done under commercial/non commercial useage and that cost us $1200.00 a year. We found a company out of Florida called GulfWay Insurers of Hudson, Inc. They do not have a mileage limit and it is for liabilty and cost us $252.00 a year. A lot better than we had with Progressive.

Just bought an M35 today.
Now I need to reg. and insure it.
Anyone have any experience in Texas with these?
My ins. agent said she can't cover it on my personal policy(Met).

I also need to drive the thing home, Dallas to Austin.
Should I risk without plates?

I had to go with Gulfway Insurance, I think they do nationwide so you should be able to get it www.racensur.com

I drove 420 miles with no plates, just a temp permit in the front window that was all but invisible. Got passed by many troopers with no problems <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve">

I pay $58/6mons.
My agent listed it as a Jeep M352A
My agent may have willing to work with me since her brother and I are good buds.
Either way, it can be done if you are on good terms with your agent.
I took advice from this website and others last night, and I have ins today on my M35 I bought yesterday. temp plates too.
Maybe something about Texas, but it turned out easier than I expected.

I have state Farm. 9.00 bucks a month limited use. They never check and I drive it frequently. My M715, my CJ-5 and the duece are limited use. For anyone out there without insurance... DON'T DO IT!!!!! Get insurance even to move it. In 1986 I hit three cars in my CJ with no insurance and it cost me 10,000 dollars. That was only for one of the cars. It took me ten years of payments to take care of that. Don't drive without insurance...

Anyone with a duece that is youner than 24yrs old and is using it as a daily driver or for camping?

I'm having a hard time in Massachusetts getting a non commercial policy for less than $2,600.00
