for all those who've registered deuces, what is the official GVW? Is it listed on an inspection plate on the truck, or the title or what? I think I'm home free since in NV CDL's are required for 26,000 or over, and smogs are required for 10,000 pounds and under. Even with the 10k capacity on land added to the vehicle weight it still only comes in at about 23k?

My title says 13,400.

EDIT: I have never had to smog a diesel, or anyting as old as a deuce is. Might want to keep that in mind.

yup, unfortunately though Nevada started smogging all diesels 1968 and newer :(

but, since the cutoff is 10,000 pounds or under (they're targeting cars and light trucks) I'm good to go. Which is a double dodged bullet since a family member whom I'd prefer not to associate with runs the only diesel smog place in the area :)

and thanks guys, I was digging around the govliquidation and also there the max GVW is 23,800 pounds. Cool.

OK Monster Man , First off Nevada has the same CDL requirements as the rest of the states. Weight is only one factor. You could need a CDL just to drive a 3/4 ton van if say you were hauling compressed gas. On the other hand you could be driving a large motorhome with a "GVW" of say 32,000 lbs, and you would need nothing more than your drivers license.

In Mississippi, when I got my tag, the girl didnt know what to give me. She gave me a B10, which is for the 1 ton. <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve"> So I dont really know what mine is supposed to be.
