fog lights are yellow because, simply, they increase contrast. White lights shine all colors of the spectrum on the tiny water droplets and make them appear more blurry, fog lights only shine one color and that makes the droplets more clear and they don't look like they're a hologram

Hey thanks Monster Man, I already knew the principle behind the color of fog lights, what I was trying to find out was the history behind these type head lights. Like are they something new the military came out with or is it older stuff they dont use anymore? I cant remember ever seeing lights on MV's like that before. Sorry if I didnt explain my question better on my first post. What say you?

I have some of the yellow lights for one of my projects. My understanding is they were made for use in Europe. They are older lights with the metal waterproof connectors on them. They're pretty hard to find. A guy offered me $50 a piece for them once!

Must not be only Europe!
