M38A1 Year Identification

I purchased an M38A1 and the serial number they told me was incorrect. I found the plate behind the passenger seat and it was way different. So I assume the year they told me was incorrect also. I am wondering if anybody has a serial number close to this one that I can narrow down a year to.

Serial Number 52389

I just walked out into the field to check mine, not alot of help for you. Mine is 80172, and was amde in January of 1955. (Army unit)

I have 84042. Date delivered 4/55

If it got thumb screw for the battery cover and hinges to let the grill down, this will be a 52 to mid 53, 54 and up did not have them ..
