I have been contemplating replacing my 11x20's with 14x20's but was curious if they will fit on the same rims. Alright you guys with the 14/20's ,give me some feedback. Do they do better off road and will they do much to increase top speed?? Where is a good place to get these tires ???

The wheels on my Deuce --- go to www.M35MonsterTruck.com were made 2 inches wider than stock by removing (cutting off) the outer lock ring area and welding on a 2" wider lock ring segments from bud wheels.

14X20s will give you a 20% boost over the speedo. At 2100 RPM you will be running 55MPH. 2,500 RPM will equal 65 MPH.

I had Michelin 14X20 XLs on my deuce and didn't care for them. Compared to Goodyear 395/85R20 MVTs that I replaced them with the Goodyears are quieter and make the truck feel a lot more stable on the highway. Going with the 395s increases RPMs by 100. 2,200 RPM equals 55 MPH.

I can't say as to what tire is better off road

Yes, 14R20s will fit on 5-ton rims. They are better than NDCCs offroad and on. Plenty of tires are available through GL at Texarkana.

I'd personally put bthe 1400's.....anything over that size and you'll have clearence issues, and take away from overall power. It really depends if your motor has been turned up for the increased heighth of the tire, and how much clearence u do have.

RE: Re: RE: 14.00X20 tires

i just went out and put a tape on my 819 axles, center of axle to center of axle is 54", i just installed torque rods, these were the standard rods used on most 5t, so i would say 54" is the standard spacing

Do you have to do singles when you go to 14.00X20s on a 5ton? I have a 62 M-61 and looking at going bigger on tires. I have 11.00x20s now. but looking at ordering some 14.00s Found a place that is 800 for a set of 4 and no shipping. They have around 70% tread. So didnt know if i needed to order 10 or just 6.

Putting 14.00's on stock 5 ton rims is pushing the limits. 10' wide rims are necessary for proper bead seating. Get a set of combat rims and you won't have any issues. As for performance, the 395/85R20 Goodyear MV/T's are hard to beat for on/off road performance.
