Got my antenna from Saturn Surplus today. All new in the box delivered for $76.55. He has some used bases for $18 cheaper. The AB15 base new was $38.50 and the antenna sections were $6.50 each. First time I've bought from them, worked out great.

I have ordered from Sautrn Surplus as well. So, I will let you as well my86m1009.

So, let me see if I have this correct. With the AB15 base with the MS-116-(7)-(eight) antennas cut to 110 inches, I should be able to connect this using a standard co-axial cable to the Corba CB unit, and work?

Looks to me that it is the same as a whip antenna. Hook the center to the screw and the outer part of the wire to the ground.

Be sure to ground the UHF coaxial connector sleeve after you screw it on tight at the base of the antenna. That creates the ground reference for the base fed 1/4 wave ground plane.

if you cut it instead of properly using two long and one short sections, be sure to seal the top very well or it will fill with water. Those are copper plated steel and will rust together. use silicon gel or vaseline.

Exactly what camp9 wrote!

My AR15 base with antennas came in today. Speedy shipping. Cannot wait to get home and attach it to the M1009! Definitely will purchase again from them.

Ciao.

Which base do you have? The 15 or the 558?
Also which mount?
Does the mount look like the one posted at the beginning
Of this thread?

First off, I like to thank you Shootist for helping me out! Much appreciated.

I need to snap a few photos as that would help clear up my dilemma.

Yes, I have the AB15 base and the fender mount like that of 'cucv1883'. On cucv1883's photo, it appears there is an intermediate mount that connects the AB15 with the fender mount.
