Jefferson City MO Loadout & Guidance

I purchased a M925 from Jefferson City, MO (Event 11516, Lot 7062). I’ve never dealt with this GL site before and understand there are no GL employees at the lot, so I’m looking for someone to help with a load-out in about 10-15 days.

The truck needs to go to Cincinnati, so I’ve lined up a transportation company. The driver has hauled many MVs and somewhat familiar with the 939.

Here’s the potential problem: The trailer has ramps but, if the truck won’t start – the trailer doesn’t have a winch to drag it up onto the bed. Making it even more important to have someone help with the load-out and to troubleshoot.

Does anyone know if GL will provide a jump start – air up tires, etc.?

Compensation is offered for the load-out, and any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Just got off the phone with the GL rep. (Mike) for this site. If you call the GL # listed with your auction they will put you in touch with him. The site isn't manned full time. If you search past posts on this site for Jefferson City GL you should be able to pickup some helpful info. Are just scroll on down this page for similar posts.

:ditto: To what Glen said, your paid invoice will have Mikes cell # on it. Also the Mo guard guys that are there seem help full, your hauler should have a glad hand to air up the tires.

I live a couple hours from there, if it happens to fall on a Thursday, I can probably make it down to help. I am not a mechanic, don't need any compensation either. I do have a slave cable I can take with me. Has to be a Thursday for me to help though.
Too far to drive the 925 so they would need to have a power unit to slave to. I also have an gladhand airline I can bring.

Thanks for the info guy.

Triple C - I'll get back with you Monday or Tuesday when I know exactly when driver can get out there. Appreciate your offer!

STAN & MWMULES: I just spoke with Mike and you're right - he's a great guy. Sounds like he'll go the extra mile.

Just hope my driver doesn't back out - Mike says I only have the 10-days. Don't feel like trying to drive it the 500 miles home.

I bought (2) of the M925's from that sale, if it comes down to it then I can drive/tow it back to StL and load it on the truck.

Send me a pm if needed.

Andy

BTW: Mike is one of the best GL reps out there!

Hey Guns, just got a weather forecast for our area that is calling for snow Monday into Tuesday with a potential of six to ten inches of snow. I don’t want to be alarmist or Chicken Little but if Jeff City gets 10 inches of snow on Tuesday it could impact your ability to get that truck in to pick up your unit on Thursday. I don’t have any suggestions, just keeping you informed. I will let you know as things develop. I know there are several members around the Jeff City area; you might do a search and see if anyone there could store your truck for a bit.

Ditto. Lots of snow on the way. Your drive will suck.

Jefferson City MO Loadout & Guidance

Triple C. Thanks for the report - very concerning...Mike at GL says I got 10-days starting this Monday. I just called my hauler, he will be heading out to Jeff City the following week (that starts day 6 and counting). Always worry about those last minute cancellation or breakdowns.

When I got my 923 at Ft Knox, he picked it up on day 10.

I'll let you know when he's headed there, right now it's a deadhead run for him....I pay more because of that but I still get a good deal and he's great.

Guns I live about 20 miles from the Ike Skelton facility. I don't know if I will be in town to help. I've picked up 2 trucks from that location and Mike has had to help me start both of them. I don't know if your truck will run but if you running short on time you are more than welcome to bring you truck here and store it until you have time to pick it up. At least you wouldn't be under the gun. Just a thought. If I'm in town I will help in any way I can just let me know.

Mike from GL is great! He called me Sunday afternoon to give me an update on the pending snow storm and get a tentative p/u date. He suggested if P/U is not on Monday (today) it would be better to wait until next week, whereas the lot would be a total mess. This will work better for me. Mike feels confident the truck will start with the slave jump. He mentioned the Guardsmen on post there will generally help with the load out.

I spoke with my hauler today, he plans on being there next Mon/Tue March 4[SUP]th[/SUP] or 5[SUP]th[/SUP]. I pray all goes well!

Thanks to all who replied and offer their assistance! If something goes wrong, I’ll update this post.

I live about 20 miles the way the crow flies from the armory. Keep me posted if I can help. Did the auction show it running? If so, with jumper cables, it should'nt be too bad.

Thanks Magnum! Mike at GL says he tries to put in the description if the truck started OK, or if it needed jumped (writes the word "Jump" on the door). Since the truck was "started Oct 2012" he feels fairly confident it will start even with a jump.

Lets hope the batteries are strong enough to get her loaded and at least one more it get her unloaded at my place.

Thanks for all the offers from all of you from the Show Me State. Actually like visiting there, we've been there a few times while my son was Lost in the Woods.

After three transport companies, my 925 finally arrived. The first guy who accepted the job backed out within 48-hours. The second guy (someone I know and is very reliable) accepted but was deadlined in South Carolina – having permit issues. Luckily, my son works for TQL (truck brokerage company) and located a local driver who happened to be returning home empty from Union City, MO

So on Thursday, (day 10!!) AJ Strasinger Trucking LLC pulled into Jefferson City to find that Mike at GL had the truck running and ready for the load. AJ drove the truck up, tied her down and headed back eastern.

This morning, I met him at the local John Deere dealer’s lot. It was about 32 degrees but she cranked real strong. The on-board ether was empty so – a little shot of starting fluid in the stack and she fired right up. Backed her off the trailer, paid the man and was relieved that my 925 finally arrived!

Thanks to all that offered their assistance, it is greatly appreciated.
