Doggone kids anyway. Kilroy was there from the beaches of Normandy to the Latrines of Saddam Hussein's Palace in Iraq. And pretty much everywhere in between.

Got my cover back a few weeks ago from the tent and awning shop. They repaired some mice damage in the one of the N.O.S. cover kits I got in Findlay that I kept. I picked up four from a fellow that lives near Findlay that S.S. member junkyardwars connected me with. I know one that I sold there (sold all three others at my cost) had a couple smaller mice holes too, but not sure on the other two. For $200, I wasn't complaining and neither was the guy at Findlay who I helped take it out of the crate. Anyways, got it on today. Quite the struggle to try to get tight. I guess the M1082 trailer cover done spoiled me. I have one better picture but my yard sign is completely legible and on S.S. I am told there is to be no politics.

Wrestled unsuccessfully with a differential drain plug, I'll have to use some heat. I still have a bit of meat that I am clinging to. ALL others were super easy. I have my replacement waiting so I can throw this as hard as I can into the garbage. I'll get it. Painted a star back on the front bumper. Used a stencil to an oil board, then painted, which sort of worked, so I cleaned it up and hand painted the rest of it. Still have the back to do. Ran the backup camera cord, now have to figure out the best way to power this. trying to figure out the best thing to tap into.

I have been looking at backup cameras too and my thought was to hook it up to a toggle switch. I know there are ways to hook them up so they come on automatically when you put your vehicle in reverse, but I like the thought of being able to turn it on while driving if needed to have a rear view mirror kind of set up. Just my thoughts on it.

What is the voltage of your camera? You may need a 24v relay to switch a 12 volt source (one of your two batteries) if you want it to go off and on with the master switch. Maybe someone has a better idea. I know something else runs on 12vdc because there is a wire on the 939 series that goes to the middle of the battery series, thus 12v.

The speedout bits you can buy at HomeDepot and you see on TV work great. I use them a few times a week when I tear stuff apart. I had a fill plug on a rear diff stuck and I drilled right into it with that bit and out it came within 3 mins start to finish. Well Worth the $20. Just remember it drills in reverse and it pulls in reverse. It always gets my dyslexic self messed up.

Why not hook it to the master switch circuit so it goes on and off with the main switch. He said it's 24v. Murphy's law is that if you can forget to turn it off...you will....if it's on a separate switch.

The 12V wire that is original on the M939 series trucks is for the low speed on the heater fan. I followed their lead and ran 12V into a 3-way cigarette lighter size socket for 12V accessories. It's nice for the amber LED magnetic safety light bar that I throw on top the headache rack if I have to hit any interstate. I also wired a 12V relay switching 24V to the back up lights and reverse alarm.

They make a 3 socket 12v unit also has a USB port on it that will convert from 24v to 12v

OK, truck 2, therooster 0. I got the speedouts and some propane (had it at home, but not at shop). I neglected to get a striker, so no heat. Didn't try the speed outs yet, they are a last resort. GRRR..

And I might take the 24v hookup off thread, as it's getting a lot of attention. Do anyone know which wire to actually tap? I want to do a Y packard connection to keep things clean.

There is a dash switched 12v for the heater blower low speed feed as indicated by the small wire at the battery connection as mentioned. Tap into that going into the blower switch, and you got it.

If it's 24v there are numerous places to come off from. He says it is NOT 12v. Why would the rooster remove the voltage...it's the key to where one hooks into the existing system?
