Well, we got some snow. They are saying 12-15 inches of snow, which isn't too bad.

So got the deuce out for running errands. Found a semi with a load of lumber stuck. He had got stuck on the exit ramp, didn't get over enough and caught the snow bank on the edge of the road. Had about 4 guys with shovels helping. Was able to hook on the rear of the tractor and pull him out of the snow bank.

Second one was a PT cruiser, some lady also drove off the side of the exit ramp, was a easy pull.

Last one was a biggie. Feed truck was on the road beside my house(same one that stuck me last week). Hit a whiteout and drove in the ditch. Me and the neighbor farmer tried to pull at the same time, all we did was spin wheels.

So I drove in the field opposite of the truck, at about 45 degree angle to the truck. Hooked on a tree at the back of the deuce, then ran the winch out and pulled. Managed to break the weak link in the chain, literally! The welded link on the winch chain broke, didn't have a good weld on it. After rehooking, we winched the truck out of the ditch.

Roads are clear now, so back to the pickup truck.

That really says a lot about the strength of the factory PTO winch. A lot of which, we already knew.

I'm sure you'll get a reward for being a good Samaritan on quite a few occasions, stretch!

Sweet! And you did all of that with your "10K lbs" winch (wink wink).

Try that with a 3/8" cable electric winch. :D

Hoo-rah!
That cut right to the quick Dan Martin, I love it! Yanno, I could have retrieved that truck with an electric winch.............and 42 snatch blocks! LOL

:oops: Aw shucks... I was just out having a good time. It's only a bad time when I get stuck. Everyone offered some money, I said a thank you card is enough. got to have the camera when the snow flies, never know what will happen.

Wait, you don't get snow? I'm already packing!

Tires are 11-20's on M135 rims. If I'm already moving, they have good traction for off-road without the front axle.

Here's a pic of the link that busted on the winch chain. It's the large link where the clevis connects. Looks like a bad weld, but now I need another winch chain.
