this thread reminded me of a prank played on me when i was PVT. I knew little of diesel engines and we were having trouble getting the deuce started in the cold. They gave me a large piece of cardboard and said "go cover the exhaust pipe with the cardboard make sure its really tight push into it" Then instructed once the engine catches pull it off RIIIIIGHT as the engine catches. First few times. no go. well eventually we got it and i timed it perfectly... to change ethnicity from the neck up.
