    Cam fuel pump

6.5 natural aspirated, 1995 M1025A2 These parts are available for us through LESO I'm mainly concerned with the mechanical pump, ours is leaking, a slow drip when idling. We lost our HMMWV mechanic who worked at the shop we used. He said it wasn't a big deal but if I could I should replace it.

    Bought a 1992 M998

That's a arse busting trip in a HMMWV, hopefully you have some nice bucket seats, if not, I'd get a Walmart cushion and some Preparation H.........................;)

Good / Bad Comments About HMMWV's??

Our M1025A2 was acquired through LESO so it is still government property. I will say 95% of our contact is positive when I take it out to special events. The most common thing said is "what do you need that for?" When I explain it's essentially an unarmored, very durable 4x4 we obtained...

    Humvees in the winter

We got ours from Ft. Stewart. Those wacky 3rd ID MP's bent the **** out of the driver and passenger drain holes, I'm assuming to let water out, they also kicked in the heater box. Not exactly winter friendly, they also poked several holes on the drivers rear floor under the seat, next to the OD...

    Glow plug NSN

I don't have that TM, although I did find the right one in TM9-2815-237-34P 0025 00-1. The militaryese can be confusing, even to the initiated. I could ask you to find the applicable T.O. for TCTO work packages on any number of items and you may have the same problem. Thanks for the help.

    Glow plug NSN

Looking for the correct glow plugs for a 1995 6.5, the NSN I have is 2920011883863. Tried to look it up in the manual but it's quite confusing, any help is appreciated.

A few questions about "is this normal for a HMMWV"

View from the office on snowy days, could be a lot worse places. Although the heater is modified with "surplus" wife's vacuum cleaner hose for drivers heat.............:D

A few questions about "is this normal for a HMMWV"

Yes they are a handful in snow/ice, the main problem is the rear locking up first, even when pumping the brakes to avoid locking the tires up. I'm an LEO and we use ours almost exclusively in bad weather, so I've had plenty of practice. All vehicles suck on ice, the HMMWV is no different, just...

A few questions about "is this normal for a HMMWV"

The answer to that is a very large YES! I learned via on the job training while driving in the snow and ice, sliding sideways down a hill (in the middle) on a four lane road. Luckily I was the only one on the road while learning this valuable lesson, since the turning radius isn't that great...

    One thousand miles...one thousand dollars

We've put over 3000 miles on ours, I've done most of the maintenance at home in my driveway. It's just been small minor stuff, but it's still maintenance intensive. It's funny, I was at an event near an Army reserve center, one of the full time guys asked me how long we've had it. When I...

    "only fill 3/4"

Our tank leaks slightly if you fill it all the way up. The plastic tanks have many limitations from what I've read. I have a replacement fuel tank, but haven't changed it out yet.

    Humvees in the winter

I spend quite a bit of time in winter in ours, only have a stock heater. I "modified" it a bit with flexible (old vacuum cleaner) hose running from the box to the drivers side. I can adjust it from my feet to my face, just not both at the same time . It works well enough not to freeze...

    General Checkout on HMMWV's

I'm assuming the connections for the 12v stuff are not designed to get wet, there are several of them, they aren't waterproof and have fuses. I heard some crackling when I got into deep water, it only lasted a second or two, nothing blew as far as I know. According to the TM I should be good up...

    General Checkout on HMMWV's

We had some serious flash flooding a couple weeks ago, ours performed as advertised. BUT, when I got in high water I could hear the 12 volt police equipment connections arcing where it's connected to the battery. Everything still works I'm lucky it didn't fry, but it was only in deep water for...
