    Cold Weather Starting Tricks ?

As tmodler said air needs to be bled from the pump. There is a large hex plug about 7/8 wrench size if I remember correctly, on the front of the injector pump facing the passenger side front tire near the top. After bleeding air from the filters, crack this screw and bleed air from the pump...

If was not sitting, there could still be pressure on the back side of the piston although not likely. The vent was completely plugged which makes the cylinder go in a little until air leaks by the piston and makes the cylinder extend. I was able to remove the cylinder from under the back of the...

After it has been sitting for a while start it up and activate the 4 wheel drive switch while someone watches the cylinder. if the cylinder goes in and then back out you may have the same problem as mine. there is a vent on the cylinder. you may have to take the cylinder off to see it...

Also if you turn the engine over by hand you may see that more than one are stuck.

    FLU419 Fuel Injection Pump Removal

i thought the same thing but no luck with mine. Injection pumps have extremely tight tolerances. No room for the smallest bit of rust on the plunger.

That is what mine looked like. That plunger stuck will not allow the rack to open so no fuel. I was not successful at getting mine unstuck.

    FLU419 Fuel Injection Pump Removal

That was my problem. The shutoff works by moving the fuel rack. Mine was stuck because one of the plungers in the injection pump was stuck. It only had a tiny bit of rust on it. Ended up replacing the pump with a new one. The comment about the gear torque being too high is right. I went...

    FLU419 Fuel Injection Pump Removal

Fuel will only come out there while cranking the engine with the throttle open. Fuel should not come out of there while pumping the primer pump.

When did this start? No loading was available when I got mine. Had to hire a wrecker.

Mine did not work. The vent hole on the actuator cylinder had been painted over. When you actuate 4 wheel drive switch while watching the cylinder, it went in, then back out as the air went by the packings. Chipped off the paint and it works perfect. The cylinder can be seen from the driver...

I noticed the same thing when I changed my tires. It is unbelievable how much of the poor road manners is due to the stock tires.

Stuck backhoe bucket pin on SEE

The zerk fitting was not for future lubrication. It is only a way to get lube into the stuck part to free it up.

Stuck backhoe bucket pin on SEE

I know it's a little late however this works well. Drill a hole through the link. Tap the hole, screw in a grease fitting and pump grease in. This will get lube where it is needed. Or inject penetrating oil with grease fitting cleaning tool. Very effective. Done this many times with stuck...

I also removed my tank by just taking off the straps.

When you say softened up, what do you use for springs? I am guessing you just remove the giant sway bars?
