I have has 33x10.50 on my 1009 for quite some time, no problems on the street but it has rubbed a time of two while it was flexing on the trail!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, tried to upload a photo but just gives me the link!
MatthewH, thanks for the reply, I have researched this and it seems every website I find has a differant way of doing it, and you are the first to say that you had problems, none of the other sites really say much after they tell you had it should be done. I have a 12hp briggs engine I wanted to...
well My question would be the alt in the article had "avalanche" diodes that would burn up at 32 volts, to save the electrical system on the car, I was wondering does the 27si have the same thing? I've read some ford and dodge alts you just bypass the voltage regulator and its a done deal.
after having alt problems on my m1009 I have replace the alternator, everything seems to be working fine now, But I have the old Non-operational alt that came off the truck, I have read online in several places about alternators being converted to welders, I'd like to do this with the 27si that...
Stoney lonesome is about 6 miles from the house, I live out between Dodge City and Good Hope on Smith Lake. I got one Sammy I take up there, and got another that I'm getting ready to crossbred like you did. Keep up the work on the M1008, its looking good so far!
Rlltide12, its looking good. I love the seat! Where at in Bama are you, I'm in Cullman, I see by your signature you own a "Money Pit" I got a couple of those myself as well!
after talking with doghead on the phone last night, and with a little explaining on his part, I went back out and tested Gen2 again, and it is indeed bad. My thinking was that the system had to be grounded to the chassis, all other systems I've ever dealt with are. But seems I have run into...
Doghead, what is the out put of Gen#2? I'm getting 28 volts or so, how can that alt charge a 12v battery? I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm trying to learn how the system works. You have power from Gen1 going in at say 14.5 volts, Gen 2 picks this up and adds to it, producing 28 volts or so...
Well, I'll get back on it tomorrow, I've mess with it till I'm completely perplexed today, I do understand now the the reading I was getting on the back of alt #2 was the input from alt #1 and that the other wires coming off the back was at 28V. I understand how there getting the 28V, but if you...
well I have cleaned all the terminals, tested continuity on all the wires, chased all the wires down and made sure nothing was broken or disconnected, positive buss bar has a good 28-30 volts, small wire coming into the negative side of #2 battery has 14.5, still I can't get #2 battery to show...
OK, I have check all the connections, I'm getting 28-30 volts to the buss bar when running, on the wiring diagram there is a suppressor between the negative bar and the positive bar. my suppressor has the end broken off, will that keep battery 2 from charging?
Edit: I repaired the end and...
OK, several have said I need to rebuild the alternator, While checking wiring is on my list of things to get done today, let me explain further about my problem and then tell me if you still think I need to rebuld alternator, Gen 2 is showing 14.6 volts when running, Battery is showing 12.7 when...
I found a wiring diagram in the stickies, I'm gonna start chasing wires tomorrow, hopefully I'll get to the bottom of it, I did read something about 2 differant bulbs in gen1 and gen 2 lights, if someone had put the same bulb in both would that make the gen2 light a very dim light?
