I did my cover in Rustoleum Camo paint also 2 years ago and it is holding up great. I even power wash it and it does not come off. Just make sure the cover is clean first. Bob C.

Go back to base engine checks. Sounds like you may have weak and or broken valve springs. Pull off the valve cover and give the springs a good visual check over. Look at them closely and a lot of times you can find a broken one.

Sounds to me like there may be a broken snap ring on the mainshaft. The gears are sliding on the shaft and not meshing properly. That will make it pop out of gear and not be able to down shift. Yes, the syncros could be worn a bit but unless they are toast ,you should be able to down shift with...
