I use it all the time for the forklift, most recently when taking delivery of a new Ariens Pro 28" EFI/hydro snowblower and an 8' Fisher HD2 plow for my Dodge. Had to fetch them from down on the highway and bring 'em up my twisty steep side-sloping driveway. Needed to rotate the forks about 15*...
Good point, but the woodlot is relatively flat and non-muddy. Maybe 200 yards from the stockpile to the firewood processor. Plus, once the crane's back online, it can stack the stockpile -- having both functions on one FLU instead of two, has a certain appeal. Then I have some time to fix the...
I have a pressing need for a log grapple.
My SEE, aside from needing serious TLC now (I've used it a lot for digging and snow removal, 4WD down), lacks both the extra hydraulic circuit for a grapple, and a front-suspension lockout.
My HMMH is pristine (except the leaky crane-boom seal is now...
The tradeoff for me is the SEE's mostly for snow removal on my property, but needs to roll down the highway well without chains (because we all know the SEE's unstable enough on the highway). Thanks peakbagger, those Pirellis look about perfect for me...
I'm months behind here, as I've been couch surfing, but I am ordering up tires and chains this week. Any thoughts on Conti MPT-81's for the SEE?
I went Bridgestone M799 on my "new" '77 International Loadstar 7500, it came with 3-rail chains, badass winch, jim poles, wheel chocks etc. from an...
1/4" drive socket handles with a stubby extender have been working for me, like on the latch for the battery tray etc, ordered a 4-pt thin-walled socket from grainger for battery box etc.
These stay in the glove compartment of each FLU along with tire-pressure gauge, SEE's tires about shot.
I had to bring the SEE down from my property to the trailer I'm moving out of, to use the backhoe to smush down all the crap I'm throwing out in the dumpster that was overflowing.
I swear I drive the SEE straighter on the highway when drunk... j/k
Truck showed up with a 1/2-ton pallet of shelving, used the HMMH to unload it onto my Dodge, drove up to the quonset hut... the HMMH quit. It was doing that last Fall, so I did some maintenance on the fuel system and thought this problem was fixed.
Bouncing over the railroad tracks caused the...
OK, ya dragged a story out of me!
Recently, I was driving the SEE on the 2.5 miles of state highway between my rental and my quonset hut, on the return journey after using the SEE bucket to transport my pellet stove. What broke, was the alternator-to-ground connection. Not sure when that...
Hmmm... voltage loss... possibly correct! I'll be disconnecting batteries and using an ohmmeter this weekend, because it's just bugging me... is it possible to run a FLU with no batteries, without connecting the battery cables together, if the NATO receptacle is externally powered? If so, why in...
